Next, we will\u00a0 present the concept\u00a0 of\u00a0 \u201cCultural Globalization\u201d, as formulated by\u00a0 James\u00a0 L. Watson, a social scientist, for the\u00a0 Encyclopedia\u00a0 Britannica.<\/p>\n
He expresses that ,\u201d\u2026Cultural globalization is a phenomenon by\u00a0 which the experience of\u00a0 everyday life , as influenced by the diffusion of\u00a0 commodities and ideas, reflects a\u00a0 standardization of\u00a0 cultural expressions around the world. Propelled by the efficiency or appeal of wireless communications, electronic commerce, popular culture, and international travel, globalization has been seen as a trend towards homogeneity that will\u00a0 eventually make human experience everywhere essentially the same. This appears, however , to\u00a0 be an overstatement of the phenomenon. Although homogenizing influences do indeed exist, they are far from creating anything akin to a single world culture\u2026\u201d.(https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/science\/cultural-globalization<\/a>)<\/p>\n Following, I\u00a0 would like to put forward a definition of\u00a0 \u201cculture\u201d which\u00a0 represents best my understanding of what \u201cculture\u201d signifies and\u00a0 which\u00a0 is provided by the\u00a0 ECHOES\u00a0 Bulletin of 1998(an occasional publication of the World Council of Churches), in an extended article written by Ms.\u00a0 Fridah Muyale-Manenji.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ms. Manenji works for the African Gender Institute in\u00a0 Zimbabwe, and her description of\u00a0 \u201cculture\u201d is\u00a0 the following:\u201d\u2026Culture is such\u00a0 a broad term and when it comes to my mind, I think of\u00a0 values and norms people have which make them live in a particular way. A way of living in a particular community. In other words, the sum total of all things that refer to religion, roots\u00a0 of\u00a0 people, symbols, language, songs, stories, celebrations and all\u00a0 expressions of\u00a0 our way of life. It encompasses food production, technology, architecture, kinship, the way we relate to each other, political and economic systems, and all the social relationships these entail\u2026Culture is a continuous process of change, but in spite of the change, culture continues giving a community, a\u00a0 sense of identity, dignity, continuity, security , and binds society together\u2026\u201d.(https:\/\/www.oikoumene.org\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n In the abstract of her article for ECHOES, which is entitled \u2018The effects of globalization on culture in Africa in the eyes of an\u00a0\u00a0 African woman\u2019, Ms. Fridah Muyale-Manenji, clarifies what economic and social development should involve in relation to Globalization today. Her standards\u00a0\u00a0 reflect to a large degree my moral and social\u00a0 criteria concerning what should entail in any society\u2019s development.<\/p>\n In this abstract, Ms. Manenji takes the following position with respect to what the ideal societal development has to take into account . She says the following:\u201d\u2026Economic growth without social and cultural justice cannot be our idea of development. It is imperative that the development is measured in terms of the quality of\u00a0\u00a0 human life, which can be reflected in\u00a0 for\u00a0 example, better education, health and life expectancy for every member of society. This is only possible if men and women are equally empowered, in theory and in practice. And the North has a crucial role to play in this process. Anything that falls\u00a0 short of restoring peoples\u2019 dignity, sense of identity, continuity and security, should never\u00a0 be accepted\u2026\u201d.(https:\/\/www.oikoumene.org\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n From the above descriptions, first of all, we come to realize the importance of\u00a0 \u201cculture\u201d as a societal\u00a0 institution in any human community, whether large or small, to its social welfare, its political stability and its economic development, on a personal and on a collective level. Similarly, that any human community cannot evolve properly and creatively if there is no \u201csocial justice\u201d and \u201csocial pluralism\u201d, on a personal and on a collective level. Any type of distortion of\u00a0 this socio-cultural equilibrium from internal or\u00a0 external political forces, whether intentional or unintentional , would be\u00a0 existentially destructive and destabilizing, on a personal and on a collective level within this human community!!!<\/p>\n The\u00a0 title of\u00a0 our written project on\u00a0 Globalization is \u2018Today\u2019s\u00a0 Globalization-an International\u00a0 Conspiracy of\u00a0 the \u00a0World\u2019s\u00a0 Rich and\u00a0 Powerful\u2019. It is therefore appropriate here to provide some formal definitions\u00a0 concerning the concepts of \u201cconspiracy\u201d\u00a0 and\u00a0 \u201cconspiracy theory\u201d, on which\u00a0 I\u00a0 will develop my\u00a0 whole analysis of\u00a0 today\u2019s\u00a0 Globalization.<\/p>\n For the term \u201cconspiracy\u201d, we have chosen two definitions which could cover a wider\u00a0\u00a0 scope of its\u00a0 meaning.<\/p>\n From http:\/\/www.dictionary.com<\/a>, one of its definitions is , \u201c\u2026an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan , formulated in\u00a0 secret by two or more persons\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n From http:\/\/www.thefreedictionary.com<\/a>, one of its definitions is, \u201c\u2026a\u00a0\u00a0 joining or acting together, as if by sinister design\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Now\u00a0 for the term \u201cconspiracy theory\u201d, we chose once again definitions from two different sources.<\/p>\n From https:\/\/www.google.ca,\u00a0 one of\u00a0 its definitions is, \u201c\u2026a belief that some covert but influential organization is responsible for a circumstance or event\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n From http:\/\/www.dictionary.com,one<\/a> of its definitions is,\u201d\u2026 the idea that many important political events or economic and social trends are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n I\u00a0 personally believe, as many objective social scientists do around the world, that\u00a0 today\u2019s Globalization, whether it is cultural, political or economic, is a very well organized and very well thought scheme by powerful transnational corporations\u00a0 and powerful\u00a0 transnational financial\u00a0 centers , mostly\u00a0 Western, and mainly\u00a0 American. They\u00a0 plan\u00a0\u00a0 to gradually have absolute control over all human activities and developments, under a \u201cglobalized market place\u201d, and\u00a0 eventually under\u00a0 a \u201cglobal government\u201d. These\u00a0 international\u00a0 power players\u00a0 are\u00a0 manipulated and directed\u00a0 by the most powerful and influential \u201cglobal elite groups\u201d and \u201cglobal elite organizations\u201d, with very\u00a0 little\u00a0 political interference from the\u00a0 \u201cdemocratically elected governments\u201d of\u00a0 the countries\u00a0 around\u00a0 the world!!!<\/p>\n There are \u201cspecific intentions\u201d forged\u00a0 by these \u201cglobal elites\u201d. These elites are\u00a0 \u201cmortals\u201d and\u00a0 not \u201cdivine\u201d like the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, but like the Pharaohs and the multitude of world hegemons throughout human history, they are personalities\u00a0 who are existentially dysfunctional and alienated from the real\u00a0 \u201cchecks and balances\u201d of life .\u00a0 They are\u00a0 exactly like their primitive\u00a0 ancestors, the Neanderthal Man, not\u00a0 the\u00a0 Cro-Magnon Man. The Neanderthals devoured the carcasses of their offspring, to personally survive, being completely indifferent to the welfare and the subsistence of their family or tribe!!!<\/p>\n These very powerful but mentally deranged international elites, are absolutely convinced that through their \u201cinternational machinations\u201d, they can predefine and decide upon the destiny of all human kind , which will soon be obliged in one way or another, to service \u201cunconditionally\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cpassively\u201d their private hegemonic ambitions to the long- term\u00a0 detriment of almost everyone else.<\/p>\n These \u201chuman hybrids\u201d and \u201csocial pariahs\u201d\u00a0 are\u00a0 truly apathetic about nature\u2019s universal\u00a0\u00a0 equilibriums, but\u00a0 more importantly they ignore their own \u201cmortality\u201d. In their own \u201cvirtual reality\u201d\u00a0 , they are not capable of comprehending practically and pragmatically that this accumulated wealth and power , cannot be hoarded off for their\u00a0 \u201cafter life\u201d , if one exists. What they will leave behind, will haunt their families, their relatives and their descendants for a long, long time, like in the Greek Tragedies!!!<\/p>\n I\u00a0 am\u00a0 absolutely certain that these insecure, neurotic, unerotic\u00a0 and cowardly individuals, have been completely drained of their \u201clife force\u201d or of all\u00a0 those human\u00a0 attributes\u00a0 which make Human Life an extraordinary and worthy experience, whether it\u00a0 be human empathy, human wisdom, human eroticism , human friendship, human commonality or human inspiration!!!<\/p>\n It is a\u00a0 grave and\u00a0 detrimental\u00a0 existential error by\u00a0 the general\u00a0 public, especially the politicized and educated human beings, in the 21st\u00a0 century , not\u00a0 to react dynamically and radically\u00a0 against the \u201cinherent destructive madness\u201d of\u00a0 these international elite groups, exposing and undermining their \u201cmaligned\u201d and \u201cschizophrenic\u201d schemes to neutralize the mental integrity, the creative potential\u00a0 and the economic welfare of\u00a0 all human beings, including\u00a0 themselves, even though they are not mentally capable of\u00a0 understanding their own\u00a0 final demise!!!<\/p>\n All of this \u201chegemonic human insanity\u201d\u00a0 expressed and applied by\u00a0 these \u201cimmoral\u201d and\u00a0 \u201camoral\u201d international\u00a0 elites\u00a0 through their\u00a0 various Globalizing ventures\u00a0 and strategies, brings to mind the fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen(1805-1875), during the 19th century in\u00a0 Denmark, \u2018The king\u2019s new clothes\u2019!!!<\/p>\n This\u00a0 fairy\u00a0 tale talks about a king who ruled\u00a0 over a\u00a0 \u201cpeaceful\u201d and \u201caffluent\u201d kingdom. This king loved luxuries, especially rich clothes for\u00a0 himself , so that he could impress his subjects.<\/p>\n One day, two crooked men who were travelling through this quiet kingdom, learned about the king\u2019s weakness for rich clothes, so they devised a dastardly plan. They visited the king and introduced themselves\u00a0\u00a0 as the finest weavers and tailors in the land. They convinced him that they could produce the most attractive royal\u00a0 garment\u00a0 for the very special public occasions, so that his\u00a0 subjects\u00a0 would\u00a0 become enthused\u00a0 by the beauty of its design and the\u00a0 quality of the fabric. In exchange they asked for a prepayment of a purse of gold coins.<\/p>\n In order to impress the king of\u00a0 their\u00a0 extraordinary workmanship\u00a0 as craftsmen, they\u00a0 informed him that the fabric\u00a0 of this royal garment would\u00a0 be so fine and delicate that it would be invisible to any person who was a social misfit or who was unusually stupid!!!<\/p>\n The royal garment was ready for the royal parade through the town and the crooked tailors showed it to the\u00a0 king. It was an \u201cinvisible royal garment\u201d made from an \u201cinvisible fine cloth\u201d. The king was so\u00a0\u00a0 fickle and na\u00efve that he expressed\u00a0 great admiration for their work, feeling afraid that these\u00a0 two scoundrels would call him\u00a0 socially unfit or unusually stupid!!!<\/p>\n When the royal parade began, and the king in his horse carriage\u00a0\u00a0 moved through the crowded \u00a0streets , wearing only his undergarments, everyone pretended that\u00a0 he was\u00a0 wearing magnificent clothes and\u00a0 shouted out loud their admiration. In fact, all the people in the kingdom knew what had happened with the crooked tailors, but they also knew that the king had willingly accepted their \u201ctall tale\u201d, and they\u00a0 didn\u2019t want to be identified\u00a0 as socially unfit and stupid.<\/p>\n At\u00a0 a certain moment, a small child in the crowd, shouted spontaneously, again and again, that the\u00a0 king wasn\u2019t wearing any clothes, and then started to laugh out loud. Taking this as a \u201csignal\u201d, the rest of the people took courage and started to express loudly the child\u2019s message. They all started to laugh and ridicule the king, demonstrating to him that he was\u00a0 unfit to be their ruler. The\u00a0 opinion was unanimous , and the king had no other choice but to abdicate.<\/p>\n Today, in every nation of the world, all people, especially the educated ones who are professionals, such\u00a0 as\u00a0 scientists, doctors, lawyers, professors and teachers, engineers and artists, even politicians and students, should accept\u00a0 their personal responsibility\u00a0 concerning the\u00a0 mismanagement, the exploitation and\u00a0 the abuse of our own planet, which\u00a0 we call\u00a0 Earth!!! All people\u00a0 should raise their voices, their human consciousness and\u00a0 their moral standards, and like the child in\u00a0 Andersen\u2019s\u00a0 fairy tale, should reveal and neutralize the \u201cmonstrous\u201d\u00a0 schemes\u00a0 which are being implemented\u00a0 by the\u00a0 \u201cmonstrous\u201d international elites through\u00a0 Globalization ,tearing apart life itself\u00a0 and leading\u00a0 all of\u00a0 humanity to its \u201cannihilation\u201d!!!<\/p>\n When previously, we\u00a0\u00a0 provided\u00a0\u00a0 some of the formal definitions related to the concepts of\u00a0 \u201cconspiracy\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cconspiracy\u00a0 theory\u201d, we took notice of\u00a0\u00a0 some of the key phrases for these definitions , which are the\u00a0 following: For \u201cconspiracy\u201d we have the phrases a) a surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons, and b) acting together, as if by sinister design. For \u201cconspiracy theory\u201d we have a) a belief that some covert\u00a0\u00a0 but influential organization is responsible for an event, and b) the idea that many important events are the products of secret plots.<\/p>\n All of these key phrases\u00a0 related\u00a0 to the\u00a0 meaning of \u201cconspiracy\u201d, and more specifically to the meaning of \u201cinternational conspiracy\u201d, can be closely linked to the different types of\u00a0 Globalization, orchestrated and implemented during the last 80 years\u00a0 around the world, and which are\u00a0 continuously being intensified.<\/p>\n The three\u00a0 most important\u00a0 parameters in\u00a0 an\u00a0 \u201cinternational\u00a0 conspiracy\u201d\u00a0 are first, a\u00a0 socially influential and\u00a0 all\u00a0 powerful organization of\u00a0 more than one person. The second\u00a0 parameter\u00a0 is\u00a0 the\u00a0 secret or covert\u00a0 strategy of this powerful organization to affect and define world trends( culturally, politically, economically) in order to reinforce the \u201cglobal power base\u201d of a very small group of\u00a0 \u201ctransnational elites\u201d. Finally, the third parameter of\u00a0 an \u201cinternational\u00a0 conspiracy\u201d is the specific intent to acquire absolute control\u00a0 over all\u00a0 globalizing trends, focusing on\u00a0 \u201cworld hegemony\u201d!!!<\/p>\n Many historically\u00a0 Powerful\u00a0 Empires, many\u00a0 Royal Houses and a\u00a0 multitude of\u00a0 Plutocratic\u00a0 Dynasties like the\u00a0 Rothchild clan\u00a0 and the Rockfeller clan, were fashioned through \u201ctime and space\u201d under similar historical coordinates. In an\u00a0 \u201cinternational\u00a0 conspiracy\u201d, the \u201cintent justifies the means\u201d, and in\u00a0 Globalization the \u201chistorical intent\u201d is world domination by a very small \u201ctransnational elite group\u201d, while the \u201chistorical means\u201d are the\u00a0 establishment, the legitimization and the enforcement of cultural, political and economic globalization,\u00a0 almost everywhere around the world!!!<\/p>\n Professor\u00a0 Madalina\u00a0 Calance, presented her analysis\u00a0 of Globalization, on the 2nd Global Conference on Business, Economics, Management and\u00a0 Tourism, held between the 30th\u00a0 and\u00a0 31st\u00a0 of October\u00a0 2014,in\u00a0 Prague, in the\u00a0 Czech Republic, justifying indirectly her position that today\u2019s Globalization is essentially an\u00a0 International Conspiracy. The title of her presentation and article is \u2018Globalization\u00a0 and\u00a0 The Conspiracy Theory\u2019.<\/p>\n In\u00a0 the\u00a0 abstract of her article she writes the\u00a0 following:\u201d\u2026Even if there is no clear evidence of a major plot to\u00a0 globalize the economy, we can still show that globalization is a\u00a0 process conducted by intention and individual\/ group interest- in different time periods, sequentially and systematically- and not by the random choices of unorganized individuals seeking the extension of their profits. This is where the conspiratorial hypothesis is: the intentionality in the economic processes, the\u00a0 need for a causal reasoning and the prevailing private interest in the\u00a0 masse-elites relationship\u2026\u201d.(www.sciencedirect.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n Our\u00a0 next\u00a0 step in recognizing today\u2019s Globalization as\u00a0 an\u00a0 International\u00a0 Conspiracy\u00a0 is to\u00a0 single<\/p>\n out politically powerful and socially influential international organizations which function as the \u201carchitects\u201d of\u00a0 Globalization on behalf of these \u201ctransnational elites\u201d. We shall therefore look into and examine two such international non-governmental, non-profit organizations, which could be classified as two of\u00a0 the most powerful \u201cthink tanks\u201d* in the world, possessing those elite members, the world status and the strategic international links, to be able to define and activate all of the globalizing trends which we have already specified.(*think tank= a body of experts providing advice and ideas on specific political or economic problems-Oxford Living Dictionaries)<\/p>\n The\u00a0 first one is\u00a0 The Club of\u00a0 Rome and the second one is\u00a0 The Council on\u00a0 Foreign Relations, which is linked indirectly to the American Government and to American\u00a0 Transnational Economic\u00a0 Interests.<\/p>\n The\u00a0\u00a0 Club\u00a0 of\u00a0 Rome is\u00a0 a\u00a0 major \u201cthink tank\u201d of\u00a0 the\u00a0 United\u00a0 Nations and the elite environmental movement\u00a0 internationally. Bill Gates is\u00a0\u00a0 also a very active and fervent supporter of\u00a0 Cultural\u00a0 Globalization through the Internet.<\/p>\n \u00a0Next,\u00a0 there is\u00a0 Zbigniew\u00a0 Brzezinski(1928-2017), President Carter\u2019s National Security\u00a0 Adviser(1977-1981) and a\u00a0 permanent member of\u00a0 the\u00a0 Council on Foreign\u00a0 Relations until his death in 2017.<\/p>\n \u00a0Finally, we count former Queen Beatrix of the\u00a0\u00a0 Netherlands(1938-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ), a major shareholder of\u00a0 Royal Dutch Shell, one of the six largest oil and gas\u00a0 companies in the world, and the sixth richest enterprise in the world, measured by\u00a0 its 2016\u00a0 revenues.(https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Royal_Dutch_Shell<\/a>)<\/p>\n The\u00a0\u00a0 Club of Rome which was founded in 1968, by the Italian industrialist\u00a0\u00a0 Aurelio Peccei, is a \u201cglobal think tank\u201d that deals with a variety\u00a0 of\u00a0 international political\u00a0 issues. Since its inception, the three major poles of its strategy and\u00a0 ideology, have been its global\u00a0 perspective, the long \u2013term evolution of mankind and the combination of interrelated problems affecting\u00a0 the quality of\u00a0 life of all of humanity , such as climate\u00a0 change, the rapid increase of the world\u2019s population\u00a0 and also the food crisis\u00a0 affecting the\u00a0 societies of the poorest nations.(https:\/\/www.jeremiahproject.com\/new-world…\/the-club-of-rome<\/a>)<\/p>\n Quoting directly from its official website, we can attest to the international status of\u00a0 The\u00a0 Club\u00a0 of\u00a0 Rome as a multinational \u201cthink tank\u201d, which has the material and human resources to influence the various trends of human evolution, including Globalization.<\/p>\n In their website , they introduce themselves\u00a0 by stating the following: \u201d\u2026The\u00a0 Club of Rome\u00a0 is\u00a0 an organization of\u00a0 individuals\u00a0 who share a common concern for\u00a0 the future of humanity and\u00a0 strive to make a\u00a0 difference. Our\u00a0 members are\u00a0 notable scientists , economists, businessmen and businesswomen, high\u00a0 level civil servants and\u00a0 former heads of\u00a0 state from around the world. Their\u00a0 efforts are supported by the\u00a0 Secretariat in Winterthur, Switzerland, the European Research\u00a0 Centre registered in Constance, Germany, and National Associations in more than 30\u00a0 countries. The\u00a0 Club of\u00a0 Rome conducts research and\u00a0 hosts debates, conferences, lectures, high\u00a0 level meetings and events. The\u00a0 Club\u00a0 also publishes a limited number of peer-reviewed \u2018Reports to the Club of\u00a0 Rome\u2019, the most famous of which is \u2018The Limits to Growth\u2019.<\/p>\n The\u00a0 Club of Rome\u2019s Mission is to promote understanding of the global challenges facing humanity and to propose solutions through scientific analysis, communication\u00a0 and advocacy. Recognizing the interconnectedness of\u00a0 today\u2019s global challenges, our distinct\u00a0 perspective is\u00a0 holistic, systemic and long-term\u2026\u201d.(https:\/\/www.clubofrome.org<\/a>)<\/p>\n If\u00a0 we\u00a0 observe carefully at the various elements\u00a0 and components which they themselves present as being the \u201cessence\u201d and the \u201cideology\u201d\u00a0 of their organization, we can clearly\u00a0 distinguish\u00a0 a\u00a0 sense of\u00a0 tremendous power, as well as the intrinsic qualities of\u00a0 Globalization, in such key phrases as the \u201cinterconnectedness of today\u2019s global challenges\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cour\u00a0 distinct perspective is holistic, systemic and long-term\u201d. Therefore,\u00a0 the solutions proposed for\u00a0 human development are global and all-pervasive, but there is a very \u201cdark\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cdiabolical\u201d side to their philanthropic scientific proposals. This dark dimension is openly\u00a0\u00a0 revealed by one of their limited number of peer-reviewed Reports,\u00a0 entitled \u2018The First Global Revolution\u2019, published in 1991, reflecting their \u201cideological criteria\u201d and their \u201clong-term\u00a0 strategic references\u201d.<\/p>\n In essence and pragmatically, their long-term\u00a0\u00a0 motivations\u00a0\u00a0 are for the establishment of\u00a0 a\u00a0 World\u00a0 Government, their own\u00a0 World\u00a0 Government!!!<\/p>\n In\u00a0 their\u00a0 Report they state the following,\u201d\u2026In\u00a0 searching for a\u00a0 new enemy to unite us, we came up\u00a0 with the idea that pollution, the threat of\u00a0 global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the\u00a0 bill\u2026 But in\u00a0\u00a0 designating them as\u00a0 the enemy, we fall into the trap of mistaking symptoms for\u00a0 causes. All these damages are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and\u00a0\u00a0 behaviour that they can be overcome. The real\u00a0\u00a0 enemy , then is\u00a0 humanity itself\u2026\u201d.(https:\/\/www.jeremiahproject.com\/new-world…\/the-club-of-rome<\/a>)<\/p>\n Therefore, according to The\u00a0 Club of\u00a0 Rome\u2019s report, the common\u00a0 enemy of\u00a0 humanity is\u00a0 man in general, his unpredictable and\u00a0 self-defeating nature, but of course for them\u00a0 \u201cit is\u00a0 different\u201d from that\u00a0 of the\u00a0 transnational elites, who\u00a0 control most of the world\u2019s\u00a0 wealth!!!<\/p>\n Using a source from Oxfam\/Forbes , the BBC\u00a0 reported that in 2015, the 62 richest people in the world, are worth more than the 50% of the world\u2019s population. In the same frame of reference, Robert Parker, CEO\u00a0 at Holborn Assets, a major international investments\u00a0 firm, commented that\u00a0 in his opinion, \u201c\u2026the biggest threat of\u00a0 globalization is\u00a0 the creation of\u00a0 a\u00a0 world elite that will\u00a0 eventually rule\u00a0 the world. Gradually, there is a world power that is\u00a0 being created instead of\u00a0 compartmentalized\u00a0 power\u00a0 sectors\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/www.quora.com\/What-are-the-<\/a>)<\/p>\n This\u00a0 focus on a premeditated control\u00a0 of\u00a0 world social trends and human evolution by\u00a0 organizations or think\u00a0 tanks\u00a0 of\u00a0 \u201cenlightened individuals\u201d, experts from a\u00a0 wide variety of disciplines, such as academia, religion, government, business, the media, etc. (in order\u00a0 to realize the\u00a0 \u201cschizophrenic dreams\u201d of the most powerful individuals on earth\u00a0 for a World\u00a0 Government or\u00a0 a\u00a0 New World\u00a0 Order ), is shared by another very powerful non-governmental, non-profit\u00a0 organization ,\u00a0 which is\u00a0 the Council on\u00a0 Foreign Relations(CFR).<\/p>\n The\u00a0 Council\u00a0 on \u00a0Foreign\u00a0 Relations\u00a0 was\u00a0 founded\u00a0 in 1921, it is an\u00a0 American non-profit\u00a0 and\u00a0 non-governmental \u201cthink\u00a0 tank\u201d which\u00a0 specializes\u00a0 in the foreign policies\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 United\u00a0 States and\u00a0 in\u00a0 International\u00a0 Affairs.\u201d\u2026It is headquartered in\u00a0 New\u00a0 York City, with an additional office in\u00a0 Washington, D.C.. Its membership , which numbers 4,900, has included senior politicians, more than a dozen secretaries of state, CIA\u00a0 directors, bankers, lawyers, professors, and senior media figures\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Council<\/a> _on_Foreign_ Relations)<\/p>\n In the meetings of the\u00a0 CFR, foreign government officials, international business\u00a0 leaders and prominent members of the intelligence and foreign-policy community are convened regularly to discuss international issues. The CFR through the David Rockfeller\u00a0 Studies Program, makes recommendations to the American administration and the American government\u2019s\u00a0 diplomatic community, interacts\u00a0 with the media frequently and publishes a bi-monthly journal, \u201cForeign Affairs\u201d.<\/p>\n Richard\u00a0 Nathan\u00a0 Haas has served as president and official spokesman of\u00a0 The Council on Foreign Relations since\u00a0 July 2003. Mr. Haas has served in the past\u00a0 as senior advisor to\u00a0 America\u2019s Department of\u00a0 Defense(1979-1980) and to America\u2019s\u00a0 Department of\u00a0 State(1981-1985). Under the presidency of George H.W. Bush(1989-1993), he was\u00a0 Special Assistant to the\u00a0 President\u00a0 and\u00a0 Senior\u00a0 Director for\u00a0 Near East and\u00a0 South Asian Affairs.<\/p>\n Richard Nathan Haas(1951-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ) clearly projects\u00a0 his foreign policy views in his book \u2018The Reluctant Sheriff\u2019, published in 1977, where he essentially defines the major components of the political ideology of\u00a0 Globalization of the\u00a0 United States and of course that\u00a0 of The Council on\u00a0 Foreign Relations.(http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_N._Haas<\/a>)<\/p>\n In this book,\u00a0\u00a0 Mr.Haas expresses his firm belief that the\u00a0 United\u00a0 States should function as\u00a0 an\u00a0 \u201cinformal empire\u201d\u00a0 and that its foreign policy should be an \u201cimperial foreign policy\u201d. He\u00a0 believes that it is the responsibility of the United\u00a0 States to set\u00a0 the guidelines and the standards for the external policies of almost all of the countries in the world, reflecting its own political preferences and of course its own political interests.<\/p>\n For Mr. Haas and naturally for The Council on Foreign Relations, the\u00a0 United\u00a0 States\u00a0 should play the role of \u201cinternational sheriff\u201d, always trying to convince\u00a0 other countries to accept\u00a0 and respect its own foreign policy strategy by whatever means or methods.\u201d\u2026what will prove crucial is the ability of the United States to persuade others to adopt and abide by its preferences-and the will and the ability of the United States to act as a sheriff, to mobilize itself and others to insist on them when resistance emerges\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_N._Haas<\/a>)<\/p>\n Going now back to our own \u201cinternational conspiracy theory\u201d, there are social\u00a0 and political\u00a0 scientists\u00a0 who classify The\u00a0 Council on\u00a0 Foreign\u00a0 Relations(CFR)\u00a0 as one of the most\u00a0 influential\u00a0 elite planning\u00a0 and policy-making\u00a0 organizations in\u00a0 the world, like the\u00a0 Trilateral\u00a0 Commission , the\u00a0 Bilderberg\u00a0 Group and the\u00a0 Committee of 300.<\/p>\n \u00a0These\u00a0 well recognized\u00a0\u00a0 scientists,\u00a0 consider that all of these \u201cinternational elite organizations\u201d work in unison with other powerful world entities, across capitalist societies in pursuit of common interests.\u201d\u2026Political scientist William Aviles, for example, includes the\u00a0 CFR among\u00a0 a class of \u2018transnational policy-making institutions\u2019 that he contends have worked in tandem with\u00a0 Western governments and international financial institutions such as\u00a0 the\u00a0 International Monetary Fund(IMF) and the World\u00a0 Bank(WB) to expand free trade, reduce regulations upon investments of transnational corporations, and accelerate the integration\u00a0 of\u00a0 markets through economic blocks such as the North American Free\u00a0 Trade\u00a0 Association or the\u00a0 European Union\u2026\u201d. (https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Council_on_Foreign_Relations<\/a>)<\/p>\n The\u00a0 \u201cpractical\u201d or the \u201cpragmatic\u201d goal of\u00a0 Globalization\u00a0 is \u201cpure power\u201d in\u00a0 all its forms, including Cultural Globalization.\u201d\u2026in the final analysis, globalization does not represent the\u00a0 intermingling of\u00a0 a plurality of\u00a0 cultures or a harmonious synthesis of a single global culture, but rather a struggle for power. In this respect, globalization is clearly a political as well as a cultural phenomenon, and\u00a0 part of the political impact of globalization relates to the issue of\u00a0 homogenization\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/www.un.org\/esa\/socder\/unyin\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n The most dynamic\u00a0 and effective instrument of\u00a0 \u201ccultural globalization\u201d is\u00a0 Mass Media, which\u00a0 can infiltrate almost all societies and impose in a subtle way through\u00a0 an \u201caesthetics propaganda\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cbrain washing\u201d its own\u00a0 Everyday Virtual Reality of a homogenized and\u00a0 gullible consumer.\u201d\u2026There is no question that all these globalizing\u00a0 trends are made possible \u00a0with\u00a0 the help of mass media at both the domestic and international level\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/www.eurojournal.com\/ejsr.htm<\/a>)<\/p>\n The\u00a0 Mass\u00a0 Media Outlets\u00a0 around the world, like those ones which control the\u00a0 Internet, Cable and\u00a0 Satellite TV, Music, Cinema and printed material, are mostly American, promoting the American view of life, the\u00a0 American consumer and social standards, and\u00a0 American \u201cvirtual reality\u201d of human existential passivity and human social uniformity.\u201d\u2026Western agencies produce and\u00a0 transmit\u00a0 90%\u00a0 of the world\u2019s news , and it is estimated that products of the American mass media, account for 75% of broadcast\u00a0 and cable television revenues worldwide and the American books make up 35% of the\u00a0 world market. Serge Latouche argues that the global media propagate a very American-centric\u00a0 vision\u00a0 of the world that fails to acknowledge the existence and importance of linguistic and cultural diversity and of the multitude of perspectives that exist worldwide\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/www.un.org\/esa\/socdev\/unyin\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n We\u00a0 have\u00a0 therefore established that \u201cinternational mass media\u201d\u00a0 is the foremost tool\u00a0 for Cultural\u00a0 Globalization. Now, in\u00a0 order to put into effect this type of\u00a0 Cultural\u00a0 Globalization, there has\u00a0 to be\u00a0 a concerted strategy\u00a0 between the individuals who own and control the means of mass media, such as satellite television, the\u00a0 Internet, computers, mobile phones, etc. They have to arrive at a final consensus what\u00a0 this \u00a0Globalized Culture\u00a0 should involve\u00a0 with respect to\u00a0 socio-cultural criteria and socio-economic purposes within a particular society or within a group of particular societies.<\/p>\n First of all, there\u00a0 has to be created and established those socio-cultural, economic and political preconditions, whereby the dissemination, the concentration and the propagation of the\u00a0 dominance\u00a0 of\u00a0 Western popular\u00a0 culture can be achieved. Second, all symbols, images, metaphors, everyday concepts and ideas\u00a0 transmitted ,\u00a0 should be stereotyped and look similar. Third, there should be socio-cultural incentives and a\u00a0 political flexibility, so that\u00a0 Western perceptions of\u00a0 entertainment\u00a0 and human satisfaction can be\u00a0 accepted as universal, with emphasis put on idealizing\u00a0 \u201cconsumerism\u201d as an absolute necessity for a \u201cnormal\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cwell-balanced\u201d everyday existence.<\/p>\n \u00a0Finally, traditional culture as\u00a0 a potential obstacle to a \u201chomogenized globalized culture\u201d, should be gradually replaced by the \u201cvirtual culture\u201d of uniformity, consumerism and materialism, which\u00a0 means replacing socio-cultural pluralism with a socio-cultural framework of\u00a0 Human Universalism.(www.omicsonline.org\/mass-communication-journalism.php<\/a>)<\/p>\n In order to produce a\u00a0 unitary and uniform Globalized\u00a0 Culture through the transnational mass media, there has to also\u00a0 be\u00a0 a\u00a0 \u201csilent agreement\u201d, both economic but also\u00a0 ideological, by the enterprises which control to a large degree the\u00a0 transnational diffusion of information, entertainment and living standards. If that common strategy\u00a0 is to be achieved successfully and effectively, there must only be\u00a0 few and very powerful entrepreneurial players or \u201cmarket protagonists\u201d, which\u00a0 translates into an \u201coligopoly\u201d of transnational media firms, able to dominate the transnational media spectrum!!!<\/p>\n Today, this \u201coligopoly\u201d of media companies are almost all Western based, while most of these are American.\u201d\u2026A\u00a0 handful\u00a0 of\u00a0 firms dominate the globalized part of the media system. The six largest are AOL(U.S.), Time Warner(U.S.), Disney(U.S.), Vivendi-Universal(French), Bertelsmann(German), Viacom(U.S.), and\u00a0 Rupert Murdoch\u2019s\u00a0 News Corporation(Australian). The other main global firms are\u00a0 AT&T(U.S.), Microsoft(U.S.)\u00a0 and two\u00a0 media\u00a0 groups that are part of much larger industrial corporations: General Electric\/NBC(U.S.)\u00a0 and\u00a0 Sony\/Columbia\/Tri Star(Japanese). Of the top 10 global media firms, then, six\u00a0 are\u00a0 American(counting News Corporation as Australian), which mostly produce, distribute, and regulate\u00a0 almost all media outlets\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/www.eurojournals.com\/ejsr.htm<\/a>)<\/p>\n The\u00a0 international financial and political\u00a0 clout of\u00a0 this\u00a0 \u201coligopoly\u201d\u00a0 of\u00a0 transnational media enterprises, permit them to determine, to define and to develop the infrastructure, the technology and the logistics of this global\u00a0 electronic network of transmission of information, sound and visual content. These powerful mass media firms also possess extensive parallel means and channels related to the providers involved in the maintenance , the activation and the modernization of this\u00a0 global media network, therefore, maximizing their profits when entering foreign markets.<\/p>\n These transnational media enterprises have the financial and\u00a0 technological\u00a0 tools to enter relatively easily in\u00a0 foreign countries and in foreign markets. They are overpowering in a forceful way, confronting dynamically and weakening the market position of\u00a0 local media firms, which manage the dissemination of information, entertainment, and of\u00a0 course advertising , reflecting the society\u2019s particular socio-cultural and\u00a0 socio-economic realities and priorities.<\/p>\n This is a very effective globalized policy and strategy that transnational media corporations are able to pursue , challenging and undermining directly, not only the local , privately owned or government controlled media companies, but also the cultural identity and the socio-economic integrity of the country or of a specific geopolitical region.<\/p>\n The cultural unity, the socio-political stability and the degree of\u00a0 politicization of a\u00a0 society, are all three major social obstacles for the globalizing schemes of the transnational media enterprises. As a consequence, it is to the interest of the transnational media enterprises to be able to infiltrate and disrupt a chosen country or region, culturally, socio-economically\u00a0 and politically.<\/p>\n As\u00a0 we have previously pointed\u00a0 out, these \u201ctransnational media corporations\u201d, utilizing\u00a0 their\u00a0 financial, political and of course technological leverage, can prescribe and energize indirectly the whole of the \u201cinternational electronic matrix\u201d ,which supports their globalizing media activities.\u201d\u2026Global instructions and companies also have major impact. Global standard bodies such as the International Telecommunications Union(ITU), allocate satellite orbits, determine broadcast frequencies, and define the standards for telephones, mobile phones, faxes, and Internet connections. Global telecom companies, like Cable and Wireless, run much of the world\u2019s communications infrastructure of optical fiber cables, satellite, and high-speed lines. Global media also force competitors to react to them. When Murdoch\u2019s Star TV started broadcasting\u00a0 in\u00a0 India, the state television\u00a0 broadcast had to respond with more competitive entertainment or lose\u00a0 its audience\u2026\u201d.(http:\/\/www.eurojournals.com\/ejsr.htm<\/a>)<\/p>\n Previously, we mentioned that\u00a0 due to the\u00a0 financial , technological\u00a0 and\u00a0 political\u00a0 resources of giant\u00a0 transnational media corporations like\u00a0 Disney, Time Warner, CNN and\u00a0 Microsoft through\u00a0 the\u00a0 Internet, they\u00a0 can supervise and dominate to a large extent the dissemination of information, services and\u00a0 cultural products\u00a0 around\u00a0 the world, especially the\u00a0 American media\u00a0 corporations. In this cultural exchange, Western transnational media corporations, especially those owned\u00a0 by\u00a0 American economic interests,\u00a0 literally \u201cinvade\u201d traditional cultures through their entertainment providers(TV programs, films, cartoons, music, international news) and through their \u201crefined advertising\u201d, promoting a predefined\u00a0 package of\u00a0 goods\u00a0 and\u00a0 services, which Western, and especially\u00a0 American transnational corporations produce and distribute around the world.<\/p>\n The\u00a0 narrower the spectrum or the choices of goods and services in the global market place, the more economical and naturally the more profitable would be the production and the marketing of these specific goods and services by these Western transnational companies. As a consequence, Western transnational corporations , whether they produce goods or services, or\u00a0 disseminate information, in their strategy\u00a0 for \u201ccultural globalization\u201d, they are creating a more \u201chomogenized\u201d global culture, even within the Western developed countries. They are \u201cintentionally\u201d weakening and undermining the societal inputs of traditional culture in protecting and maintaining a\u00a0 society\u2019s historical identity, its societal cohesion and its popular habits and traditions.<\/p>\n In essence, the \u201cglobalizing strategy\u201d of these mostly American transnational corporations is to create\u00a0 dysfunctional societies, whether by homogenisation or by hybridisation, so that they can become \u201ceasy prey\u201d to their \u201cscavenging\u201d.\u201d\u2026While the global media system disseminates capitalist consumer culture globally and uniformly, having a homogenizing effect, it simultaneously has the effect of creating new hybrid cultures as a result of global flows of people and the interpretation of media flows. However, neither homogenisation nor hybridisation attempt the preservation of traditional cultures; homogenisation attempts to suppress them whilst hybridisation\u00a0 may subvert by incorporating them into new hybrid cultures. It is the future of traditional cultures to which the proliferation of media globalisation\u00a0 poses the greatest threat and how such cultures can be preserved will be an important question for future theory on media globalisation\u2026\u201d.(https:\/\/www.omicsonline.org\/mass-communication-journalism.php<\/a>)<\/p>\n Similarly, through their\u00a0 neo-liberal capitalist\u00a0 ideology, those\u00a0 Western transnational corporations promoting \u201ccultural\u201d but also \u201ceconomic\u201d globalization, go even further in disrupting and\u00a0 subverting the social cohesion and the political integrity of\u00a0 a country, by\u00a0 opposing forcefully any\u00a0 state intervention in their global strategies, which like\u00a0 the societal institution of culture may\u00a0 obstruct their \u201cglobalizing schemes\u201d of\u00a0 total\u00a0 control!!!<\/p>\n As\u00a0 in the case of the\u00a0 European\u00a0 Union, democratically elected state governments have checked and\u00a0 neutralized the\u00a0 \u201chegemonic plans\u201d of\u00a0 transnational corporations, whose\u00a0 main focus is to supervise the minds, the hearts and \u201cthe pockets\u201d of the general\u00a0 public. Nevertheless, there are many examples where the state apparatus of\u00a0 a country has supported and\u00a0 facilitated their globalizing initiatives, especially in the underdeveloped and developing nations, as\u00a0 their elected and non-elected state representatives\u00a0 have either been \u201cbought off\u201d, \u201cbribed\u201d or \u201cblack-mailed\u201d in cooperating with them(transnational corporations), this\u00a0 against\u00a0 the general welfare of\u00a0 their own citizens.\u201d\u2026The rejection of state intervention in the economy, one of the\u00a0 basic\u00a0 liberal principles, remains in place -when that intervention takes the form of the welfare state. But state intervention is allowed to promote the effective functioning of the market mechanism and the related maximization of profits\u2026\u201d.(https:\/\/www.omicsonline.org\/mass-communication-journalism.php<\/a>)<\/p>\n The most important economic indicator which specifies and confirms the very close cooperation between the transnational media corporations and the transnational corporations producing\u00a0 goods and services, are the amounts of money being spent on advertising internationally and also the firms which dominate the advertising market. Transnational advertising through mostly Western transnational media corporations is critical in promoting the goods and services generated by\u00a0 mostly Western transnational corporations, especially American transnational corporations.<\/p>\n
